Chasewater is Back

Thursday, February 21st, 2013

We’re back!!!

From the 2nd of March were back with almost 3 years away from the lake due emergency repairs to the lakes dam wall. With the weather being on our side over the last 12 months the lake has naturally refilled and is now ready for us to re launch.

On the 2nd of March we will be joining new and existing boat members for the season ahead Joining will take place at the clubhouse from Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of March then every Sunday right up to 14th of April after. I will be at the club from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

With the clubhouse closed for such a long time we did suffer a few incidents including the central heating system been stolen along with some electrical cables around the clubhouse and compound.

With hard work from many members over the last 3 year but especially over the last 4 months the clubhouse and compound are now back to its former glory.

Les & Lyn have now taken over the Bar & Galley Facility within the clubhouse and have worked tirelessly since Christmas to bring these areas back up to standard, and when you all see you will be amazed on the effort they have already put in.

Plans have been submitted to the council by a third party for a straight line Cable System to be put in along the dam wall. We believe this will be a positive step for the future of Chase Water sports Centre as Cable systems are a stepping stone for family’s to get further involved in the sport and purchasing boats to make this a family activity not just a personal one.

We still have a lot to organise for the months ahead so look out for the return of Cutting edge, the youth development programme for all disciplines of water skiing & wake boarding  We also have plans to run a boat for lesson of our own members & also outside Individuals and groups for the season ahead. As for events on the water the Ryan & Tony Birch Wake board Event finally returns home after 3 years along with other events which are in very early stages of getting arranged.

Club Parties will be back Discos, Live Bands, Family Fun nights so check our calendar over the coming weeks to see this all develop.

Tragic Accident

Friday, August 8th, 2008

It is with great sadness that on Sunday 5th August, a long standing member Tony Birch and his son Ryan were tragicly killed in a light airplane accident.

Ryan (15yrs) was naturally talented on the water especially his passion Wakeboarding, where earlier this year he won his division in a national wakeboard competition, also in the national kids coaching compertition only 2 weeks ago.

Tony was a fantastic family man and was known for his great sense of humor, his practical jokes and laughter will be missed.

Our deepest thoughts and sympathy go out to the Family and friend especially Leslie (Wife and Mother) and Craig (Son and Brother) at this very difficult time

There has been a book of condolence left in the club where Leslie and Craig would like people leave there thoughts and comments.
